FLOWER SHOW

Yesterday we had one of the several annual flowershows in our village. This one was a fuchsia show but there were many other flowers on show too.

THIS PLANT WELCOMED US AT THE ENTRANCE, I THINK IT WAS SOME SORT OF MINI BANANA

THESE HYDRANGEA’S WERE PART OF THE LOCATION

I LOVE FUCHSIA’S,THEY COME IN ALL SIZES AND COLOURS, PERSONALLY I PREFER THE SMALLER FLOWERS BUT I LOVE THEM ALL !!!!

More about this show in my next post.

Have a great day all and enjoy your garden !

MINI SUMMER

This week we are having a mini Summer of 5 days and because I am still revalidating after my op I enjoy every minute of it. I could get used to not having a job and be a full time housewife /gardener.

As we have temperatures of about 30 C° during the day I start early with watering the garden and the greenhouse and do some little jobs that need to be doing. There are big jobs to be done too but I can’t start on them as I may not lift, push or pull untill the end of August.

I took some pictures for you this morning.

A SEDUM, WE DON’T HAVE MUCH CHOICE IN WINTERHARDY SUCCULENTS, I PUT MY POTS WITH SUCCULENTS IN THE GREENHOUSE DURING WINTER, NOT FOR THE COLD BUT TO PROTECT THEM FROM TOO MUCH RAIN

A LACE CAP HYDRANGEA

THE LAST OF MY DAY LILLIES IN BLOOM

THIS PINK CLIMBING ROSE IS CLIMBING AGAINST THE AVIARY, IT IS COMBINED WITH RUSSIAN VINE, THE RUSSIAN VINE IS FOR THE BIRDS, MY HUSBAND GIVES THE LEAFS TO HIS BIRDS SO THEY’LL GET DARKER PAWS

FLOWERS OF THE RUSSIAN VINE (FALLOPIA), IT’S A VERY INVASIVE CLIMBER ! YOU HAVE TO CUT IT DOWN EACH YEAR OR IT WILL SWALLOW YOUR GARDEN !

AS YOU CAN SEE ON THE LEFT WE STILL HAVE SOME PLANTING TO DO. THIS IS MY AEONIUM, IN SPRING IT HAD ONLY 4 ROSETTES, I AM AMAZED TO SEE HOW WELL IT IS DOING DESPITE ALL THE RAIN. I KEPT IT IN MY LIVINGROOM DURING WINTER AS IT NEEDS QUITE A BIT OF WATER FOR A SUCCULENT.

Goodbye for now, have a great day and enjoy your garden !

WHITE ORCHID

My white orchid is in bloom again, I love it !

I put it in front of one of my paintings as it looks good with the blue and the green. Usually it flowers twice a year. I have more orchids ofcourse but this is my absolute favorite.

Have a great day and enjoy your garden !

A BEAUTIFULL GARDEN IN SPAIN.

On our way to my beloved Spain we have to travel trough France, a very beautifull and interesting country, no matter where you go in France, you find beauty, culture, art and last but not least good food. My favorite part of France is the Provence in the South.

CYPRESSUS IN THE SOUTH OF FRANCE

A HUGE CACTUS ON A PARKING IN FRANCE, ALONG THE HIGHWAY IN FRANCE YOU HAVE THOSE HUGE PARKINGS WHERE YOU CAN GET SOMETHING TO EAT AND DRINK, FILL YOUR CAR WITH WHATEVER IT NEEDS, HAVE A CAR REPAIR OR NEW TYRES, DO SOME SPORTS AND RELAX, YOU CAN EVEN DO SOME SHOPPING HERE . CLOTHES, FOOD, WINE…. AND EACH AND EVERYONE OF THEM IS BEAUTIFULL AND DIFFERENT

The following pictures were taken in the South of Spain in a palm tree garden called Palmeral de Elche near Valencia, some of the palm tree’s are 300 years old, most palms are dates and their fruits are picked in December.  It is the biggests palmtree garden in Europe. Besides the palm tree’s it had a lot of succulents and cacti as well as flowers and water.

THESE TREE’S ALWAYS REMIND ME OF FUNNY LITTLE MEN, STANDING ON THEIR HEAD WITH THEIR FEET UP IN THE AIR, THEY ALWAYS MAKE ME SMILE

I intend to visit this garden again if we are in the area of Valencia, I loved it !

Have a great weekend all and enjoy your garden !
