It is Winter in my part of the world so there is not much to do in the garden, I read garden books, garden magasines and I watch other people’s blogs in order to quench my garden thirst.
Today I want to share the experiences I had while on holiday in Kenya, East-Africa. It is a beautiful country with beautiful nature and beautiful people.
SOMETHING YOU SEE A LOT IN KENIA ARE ELEPHANTS, LOTS AND LOTS OF ELEPHANTS, EATING TREE’S AND SHRUBS, PUSHING TREE’S TO THE GROUND AS IF IT WERE JUST DRY STICKS
VIEW OVER A VALLEY
MR LEO, KING OF THE VALLEY, HE CAME SO CLOSE WE COULD HAVE TOUCHED HIM BUT WE WERE TOLD TO KEEP OUR ARMS AND HANDS INSIDE THE CAR….
LION CUBS PLAYING ON A DEATH TREE, THEY BELONGED TO SEVERAL MUM’S
ONE OF THE MUMS
WILDERBEASTS WERE EVERYWHERE, WE SAW HUNDREDS AND HUNDREDS
ZEBRA’S PEACEFULLY EATING AMONG THE WILDERBEASTS
SOME SORT OF GAZELLE, THERE WERE SO MANY DIFFERENT SPECIES
THIS ONE IS CALLED A DIK DIK, VERY CUTE BUT SHY
TWO MALE’S FIGHTING
LOVELY LONELY TREE AND VULTURES
VULTURES EATING FROM A CARCAS
A SHOP IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE !!! THIS WAS IN MASSA MARA, THEY WERE WAITING FOR THE MINI BUSSSES WITH THE TOURISTS AS THEY ALSO HAD THE ONE AND ONLY TOILET IN THE AREA, THE TOILET BEING A HOLE IN THE GROUND AND A BROKEN DOOR BUT IT WAS EITHER THAT OR BEHIND A BUSH SO…..
A FEW OLD WISE MEN FROM A MASSA MARA VILLAGE WE VISITED
CUTE KIDS
MASSA MARA MEN DANCING FOR US, THEY ARE ALWAYS WEARING A PIECE OF FABRIC WITH A LOT OF BRIGHT RED IN IT SO YOU CAN SEE THEM FROM FAR AWAY
THE LADIES
CUTE PUPPY’S
ALL THE KIDS HAVE TO GO TO SCHOOL UNTIL THE AGE OF 15 BUT CLASSES ARE REALLY OVERCROWDED AND THEY HAVE NO BOOKS OR PAPER TO WRITE ON, NO PENS NO NOTHING, SO IF YOU EVER GO ON A HOLIDAY THERE PLEASE TAKE AS MUCH PEN’S AS YOU CAN, THEY’LL LOVE YOU FOR IT ! tHESE ARE THE LUCKY ONE AS THEY HAVE A CLASSROOM BUT MOST OF THE KIDS IN KENIA JUST HAVE A TREE TO SIT UNDER WHEN THEY GET LESSONS
MY FAVORITE MAMAL
BABOON

Wonderful pics. I think the one ape is a ‘Vervet monkey’. We see them regularly here. Gazelle we call “springbok”, I think they may be called something else in Kenya. Then it is Red Hartebeest and under them ‘Impala’ buck. You seem to have had a great trip and seen lots!
Oh yes, I remember all those names now that you mention them but there were so many animals all with different names so you forget after a while.
It was indeed a lovely vacation !!!!
Wow! What wonderful pictures! I feel like I have been on safari!
there is more to come …..
