When travelling around Pérouges we came across a koi garden so we stopped and had a look, it was beautiful !!! It was so peaceful there, it was a sunny and warm day and the shade of the trees was welcome. The garden was covered in ponds, big ones and smaller ones and there was a large bamboo garden as well. We had a really nice afternoon there and I took loads of pictures of course.
KOI ARE SUCH BEAUTIFUL FISH ! WE HAVE SOME IN OUR POND TOO BUT THEY ARE NOT AS VISIBLE AS THESE AS WE HAVE A LOT OF PLANTS IN OUR POND
PAMPAS GRASS
THIS WAS A BIGGY !
THIS WAS THE BIGGEST POND, IT HAD PINK LOTUS FLOWERS GROWING IN IT, LOTUS FLOWERS AND LEAVES ARE EVEN MORE IMPRESSIVE THAN WATERLILLIES
A CLOSER LOOK AT THE LOTUS FLOWERS, YOU CAN SEE IT WAS AUTUMN AS THE LEAVES ARE GETTING BROWN
THE LOTUS SEEDHEADS ARE USED IN FLOWER ARRANGEMENTS
COS OF THE MANY ROCKS IN THE GARDEN THERE WERE MANY LITTLE LIZZARDS SUNBATHING
AND THE BEES WERE BUZZING……
THIS WAS THE ENTRANCE TO THE BAMBOO GARDEN

That’s so beautiful!
thank you, I am glad you like it !
Gorgeous place – fish are so calming. Friends of ours had bought a house in France with something like a small lake (or a large dam.) It had one Koi carp in it but he was so big he would create a sort of wake as he swam from one end toward his evening feed at the other. It was quite amazing.
koi can become REALLY big especially when they live in a huge pond, I hope your friend will give his koi some friends to play with ! some people will give away their koi as they become too big for their ponds so if he asks arround and tells people he has a real big pond he’ll get some for free !, I’m glad you like my blogpost, I just added a new one about our visit to Monaco
Koi are beautiful. The garden looks very serene. Calming.
thanks, I’m glad you liked it, it was very serene there, I loved it too, there were seats everywhere so you could sit and enjoy in peace and quiet
Thanks for sharing these beautiful images Gwennie!
I’m glad you like them ! the best is yet to come though, we spend the last part of our holidays in the South.
Looking forward to it! Best, Nicholas.
What a place. Could next week be , possibly, a visit to Giverny?

Magnificent photos and a great visit to the water garden. Thank you!
