Cos of the storm today I couldn’t take any pictures of the garden but a while ago I promised you an update on my cacti and succulents, the collection I have indoors that is.

MY RHIPSALIS

THEY HAVE BEEN GROWING NICELY THIS SUMMER

HERE YOU CAN SEE THAT MY PINK PELARGONIUM IS STILL IN BLOOM

I water my collection about once a week with cold water that has been cooked before and they get a little bit of fertiliser just once in Spring or fresh soil, if they get fresh soil they don’t get fertilizer for a year. Each time I water them I inspect them to see if there are no bugs or illnesses and then after watering I give them a new place on another shelve so that they can sit in the sun once in a while and I turn them regularly so they won’t grow crooked. Some of these plants will soon go upstairs for a cooler overwintering ,unheated but frost-free, something they need to produce flowers in Spring or Summer, others need a place arround 20 C° to stay happy.
Have a great week all and enjoy your garden ! Thanks for stopping by, it is much appreciated !

Thanks for visiting papereyrie! Hooray for cacti! Ah, the beauty that they offer.
Hooray for cacti indeed ! the only problem is that you get easily adicted to them, once you’re hooked you always want more of them !
Don’t I know it! I have a planter full of cacti, nicknamed ‘the hospital’; they were all looking pretty sick during the winter.
when they have to overwinter inside you get problems, they just don’t like it ! how I wish I lived somwhere I could plant them in my garden !!!!
Is that a caespitosa loph I spy in the middle of the 6th picture. 😉 Beautiful collection by the way.
Actually I meant the bottom shelf on the 5th picture. For some reason I thought they were separate pictures.
I don’t know the name of all my cacti, unfortunately in the shops they usually put “cacti” on the pots, I’d love it when they would give the full and correct name of plants !!!
Well I believe it is. If you ever want me to ID some cacti for ya I’m pretty good at it.
thanks !
Your collection is beautiful! I especially love your variegated succulents.
thank you !
Wow, such loving care – these are some luck cacti & succulents!
thank you
Those cactus are lucky to be in your loving care. I was interested to read that you cook then cool the water before giving it to them. Is there a reason for that? That first photo looks as though it has a dummy sprouting out of it… 🙂
there is too much chlorine and lime in the water over here so when boiling the water those elements are removed and I love to dress my pots with little bits and bobs, the red thing you see with the rhipsalis is something to put on an open bottle of wine, I also use pebbles, coloured glass, shell’s etc…
Yes that explains the boiling water. I have a rain water tank for my pot plants
Very happy looking and impressive collection!
thank you !
OHHHH lucky you! and lucky cacti !!!
Goodness you certainly do have a wonderful collection. I’d love to see the flowers they produce.
with a bit of luck I can show them next Spring !!
I’ll look forward to seeing them then.
Gwennie- your cactus pictures made me smile. You are surrounded with such beauty. – Sharon
Thank you, I love to have them arround and see them every day.
They look so very happy and healthy. Your investment of TLC in their care certainly shows. Best wishes! WG
