Barcelona is full of art, and when I say full I mean really full ! It is everywhere you see, old art and new art.

I think you need a life time of holidays to see all the art in Barcelona. But pictures say more than words, right , so here we go.

    • We will b ut I think the weekend of the 1st of May was the busiest of the year as I heard from others who went to Barcelona on other dates that it was not that crowded.
Thanks for visiting my blog i

  1. Oh my gosh Gwennie! I got back home from 3 days in Barcelona on Friday! Could it be possible we passed one another?! Many of your photo’s are the same as mine. And, dare I say it but your visit to the museum of contemporary art look more enticing than Picasso’s museu! But ssh, don’t tell anyone I said that. Looking forward to yr post on Gaudi. What a mind he must have had! Do you know if he and Picasso were friends or just contemporaries? Greetings to you, 😘

    • We were in Barcelona from 1st of May till 5th of May. I don’t think Picasso was a friend of Gaudi as Picasso once said : send Gaudi and the Sagrada Familia to hell ! Dali was a friend of Gaudi. I thought exactly what you said : it was better in the Museum of contempory art than in Picasso’s museum ! and a lot quieter too, I could take pictures as much as I wanted to without being pushed away.
      Greetings to you too.

      • Yr lovely Gwennie. I was in Barcelona from the 6th to 9th. I missed you by one day! Ahhhhh. Did you eat at the 4 cats?? It’s a funny thing about the museum of Picasso. Normally at such places I feel deeply moved at some point but I just didn’t at Picasso. I remember well, for example, how I felt at the Vincent van Gogh museum in Amsterdam but I honestly felt more moved by yr pics at the contemporary art museum than I did viewing Picasso’s works. I just didn’t feel a connection. I maybe a heathen but next time I visit Barcelona, I’ll be sure to follow in your footsteps. I await your post on Gaudi with alacrity. Oh for a one to one with him! 💬💚💬

      • How long did you have to wait to get in to the Picasso museum ? Can’t remember if we ate at the 4 cats….we ate in several places, I love the Spanish food !

      • It wasn’t such a long wait considering. About 30mins. And then there is a VERY GOOD tapas bar along the same stretch called EL Xampanyet. We ate there afterwards. 👍🍷🍺😋🍴🍝🍤☕️Fabuloso. Can’t wait for my next visit! I hope it’s soon. 😘😘

      • We tried to visit the Picasso museum 3 times and each time the cue was so long you could not see the end…..so I was disappointed but then we saw this museum for contempory art and I thought ; this is better ! 😀

      • Interesting that. I wonder if it crazy busy over the bank hol period? Anyway, whatever the case you did good trying the Contemporary Art museum. 👍😉 Following my visit to Barca, I’ve been inspired to reread The Shadow of the Wind, by Carlos Ruiz Zafon, which is set there. I heartily recommend it if you haven’t read it already. 📖📚🌇
