END OF MAY PICTURES

Never before was my garden so green and lush and with so many flowers at the end of May, we had enough sun and warmth and lots of rain  once in a while so the garden is doing well. I still have a lot to do in the garden as we are in the middle of house renovations, so the garden was left to look after itself.

Today was a holiday over here and the weather was perfect for  working in the garden so I could do a lot and enjoy the view once in a while when I needed a bit of a rest.

Here are some pictures.

  1. Everything looks just delicious! What a beautiful white Passionflower. I love how you’ve paired the bucket of hens and chicks with the rose.
But Gwennie, it is as though parts of Europe hardly had winter this season. So far along for the end of May- you are weeks ahead of us living here on the mid-Atlantic coast of N. America- Some of our plants are just breaking their dormancy and showing leaves. Your garden is so lovely 😉 WG

    • We didn’t get Winter at all this year except for a few nights of very light frosts, this never happened before but I love it ! We had 5 abnormal cold Winters in a row and then the last one was soooo soft !

      • Good for the heating bills! It seemed that Europe got off easy this year, while the United States got a taste of life in Siberia. Wonder whether the Russian Olympics had anything to do with that? We had damage from the cold all the way south to our Gulf Coast states this year, which is highly unusual. I”m so glad your garden is doing so well. You certainly earned a soft winter after the last several. Best wishes, WG

      • I know the US had a horrible and long Winter and our weatherforcasters told us that that was the reason we had such a soft Winter, but the weather is abnormal all over the world these days. So I wouldn’t be surprised t get snow this Summer !

      • Erase, erase, erase 😉 No early snow for any of us, please- but also no record heat. We need to settle back to the natural patterns of things, if this is still possible. With the rapidly shifting poles, it may get more interesting still. I was hearing testimony to a Senate committee yesterday about the shift in species of fish that are being caught off of our coasts. Warm water species are common now in New England, and the cold water species they are accustomed to catch have become scarce. There are so many peripheral effects of the changes in our climate- things we haven’t even yet considered….

  2. Gosh how advanced is your garden?! Passion flowers already, you are so lucky. Mine wont appear for at least another month or so. Thank you for sharing your garden at the end of May.
