Yesterday I was walking in the garden and I finally saw the first signs of Spring !!!! I don’t go often in the garden these days cos of the cold and wet and slippery weather. Today I took some pictures.
HERE YOU SEE THE NOSES OF THE FIRST NARCISSUS, IN THE CORNER ON THE RIGHT THERE IS POTENTILLA INDICA ALSO CALLED DUCHESNEA INDICA, IN ENGLISH IT IS CALLED INDIAN STRAWBERRY, YOU CAN EVEN SEE THE FIRST STRAWBERRY. THIS PLANT IS GOOD GROUNDCOVER, IN SPRING IT COVERS THE GROUND REALLY QUICKLY AND YOU GET BRIGHT YELLOW FLOWERS UP TILL THE FIRST FROST, THE STRAWBERRY LIKE FRUITS ARE BRIGHT RED, THEY DON’T TASTE GOOD BUT THEY ARE NOT POISONOUS, AND THE PLANTS CAN EASILY BE REMOVED WHERE THEY ARE NOT WANTED.
I HAVE ROCKS AS GROUNDCOVER UNDER MY FIG TREE AND BETWEEN THE ROCKS YOU CAN SEE THE LEAFS OF MY BLUE HYACINTS
THESE ARE THE ONLY REAL FLOWERS I HAVE AT THE MOMENT, THEY ARE FROM VIBURNUM BODNANTENSE DAWN, THIS ONE CAN ACTUALLY BLOOM FROM EARLY WINTER TILL SPRING
BUDS ON A WHITE FLOWERING PIERIS DEBUTANTE
I too, love seeing the first signs of spring. It puts a smile on my face & in my heart in even the gloomiest & rainiest of days.
same here ! but we have snow again at the moment !
Wow, it’s really cool to see signs of spring! The emerging plants look so very green. 🙂
and now they are covered in snow again……
Oh no!i don’t know much about gardening, but does that mean they died? I hope not!
nono they won’t die, they are very frost resistant, we have to use frost resistant plants here in North Europe, but I hate Winter and snow !!!
i think i’m replying in the wrong place cause i couldn’t find a way to reply to your second reply. lol i’m glad to hear they won’t die, that would be so sad! 🙂
