I managed to take a few pictures in my garden, with only 1 hand it was not easy :D. I do what I can but I miss my other hand !!! Everything looks so fresh and green at the moment and it grows and grows, we have sun regularly, it is not warm but we get rain almost every day, sometimes just a bit, sometimes a lot but most of my plants thrive in these conditions. In the second half of May we can put the more tender plant outside and only then I’m happy as these plants hate to stay indoors for such a long time, usually 6 month’s or longer !!!!!!
I DID NOT PUT ONE SINGLE SEED IN THIS POT AND LOOK WHAT HAPPENED !!!!I LOVE IT WHEN THIS HAPPENS !
GERANIUM MACRORHIZHUM STARTING TO BLOOM, THIS IS ONE OF THE EASIEST GERANIUMS I KNOW, DRY, WET, SUN OR SHADE, THEY NEVER LET YOU DOWN
ONE OF MY DWARF RHODODENDRONS
A MINI IVY, IT WILL TAKE TIME TO COVER THIS WOODEN FENCE BUT ONCE IT IS COVERED YOU DON’T HAVE MUCH PRUNING TO DO LIKE WHEN YOU HAVE A LARGE IVY
AJUGA STARTING TO BLOOM, ONCE THEY ARE IN FULL BLOOM THEY ARE SO PRETTY WITH DARK BLUE FLOWER SPIKES, THEY ARE GOOD GROUNDCOVER FOR SHADY AND DAMP SOIL AND THE BEE’S LOVE THEM !
THIS IS SOME SORT OF PRUNUS WE USE AS A HEDGE IN THE BACK OF THE GARDEN, IT GROWS TO 6 METER HIGH AND SOMETIMES EVEN HIGHER, IT IS WINTERGREEN, IT GIVES OUR GARDEN SOME PROTECTION FROM STORM WINDS, THE BIRDS LOVE THIS HEDGE AS MANY OF THEM USE IT FOR NESTING AND FOR PROTECTION AGAINST THE RAIN
THIS IS A CLOSE-UP OF THE PRUNUS LEAFS AND FLOWERS
How lovely to see everything flowering again
oh yes, the grey and brown turned in to all sorts of green and lots of colour
Happy May, Gwennie! Your garden is just lovely! I always look forward to my ajuga blooms, too. Your prunus has such shiny leaves and unique blossoms. I can see why the birds love it so! Wishing you healing days in the garden, Gwennie! ♡
thanks a lot Dawn, I am enjoying it as much as I can !
All lovely! So glad you shared these beautiful plantings ~
😀
So, it rained, yes? I am really amazed to see your huge garden! You are doing a great work, you are really helping mother earth remain greener, and believe me even if it’s 0.1% of your contribution, it means a lot!
Hope you have a Great Day!
oh yes we get rain regularly, it’s not fun but I realise well that we do need it, my garden is not that big but it is my little kingdom and as I like all animals I want to keep animal friendly, when I open my back door at least 100 birds fly away but then they all come back really soon
Oh, what a nice feeling! The birds might have made it their fav. picnic spot! Aslo, how’s your wrist? Feeling any better?
I try to find plants and shrubs they can feed on and for most of the year I feed them with seeds I buy and nuts and cos of the pond they have always water to drink and to bathe, it’s fun to see that ! as for my wrist, well if I am carefull the pain is better but I am counting the days the cast can be removed !!!!!
Your’e doing good! I see flora & fauna are like your little children. Take care of them and don’t forget yourself:) I hope you have a good recovery!
thanks Robin ! as for my recovery, it can’t go fast enough !
Let’s hope for the best!
it’s 4 weeks and 2 days before the cast will be removed, then I’ll know !!! 😀
I hope it will be OK! Happy Mother’s Day!
thanks ! The area where I live doesn’t celebrate mothersday today but on August 15 th, the rest of Belgium and the world celebrates it today.
Oh,..You have two mother’s day, then!
May God bless you!
😀
