We went for a weekend to France, to Dunkerque to be exact, it is just past the Belgian border in the North-West of France and by the North sea.
We took the dog with us and that turned out to be quite a handicap as the world is not really dog friendly, you can not visit one museum and in a lot of places you are not welcome with a dog, not even a tiny one. So we did a lot of walking and sightseeing.
THERE WAS THIS BEAUTIFUL SHIP IN THE HARBOUR
WE WANTED TO SEE MORE OF IT SO WE WENT CLOSER TO INVESTIGATE IT
IT TURNED OUT TO BE A HISTORICAL PROTECTED MONUMENT THAT YOU COULD VISIT ON THE INSIDE, ALAS IT WAS NOT POSSIBLE WITH THE DOG BUT WE WERE IMPRESSED WITH HOW IT LOOKED ON THE OUTSIDE
IT MUST HAVE BEEN QUITE A JOB TO GET IT TO SAIL !!!! LOOK AT ALL THOSE CABLES !!!
WE THOUGHT IT WAS A REAL GEM, BUILT IN 1901 AND IT WAS CALLED DUTCHESS ANNE AND IT WAS GERMAN BUT NOW IT WAS A MUSEUM
ANOTHER VIEW ON THE HARBOUR WHERE THERE WERE LOTS OF PLEASURE BOATS FROM ALL OVER EUROPE
OLD BUT BEAUTIFUL BUILDINGS
I LOVED THIS BLUE DOOR AND THE LOVELY BOXWOOD TOPIARY
WE TOOK OUR DOG FOR A WALK ON THE BEACH, IT WAS RATHER COLD AND WINDY BUT HE LOVED IT
YOU CAN SEE THERE WERE NOT A LOT OF PEOPLE VISITING
ALTHOUGH SOME WERE VERY BRAVE !!!
Thanks for stopping by ! Have fun in your garden or on your holidays !
