HAPPY EASTER TO ALL OF YOU !!!

AN ORDINARY SANSEVIERIA

This morning I was inspecting some of my indoor plants and I found this :

A plant in need of urgent repotting, so I took everything that I needed for the job and I started by removing the plastic pot by cutting it so I wouldn’t damage the roots.

I use old fashion coffee filter paper to lay at the bottom of the pot so the water can drain trough the holes but not the soil, on top of the filter paper I put a layer of crocks :

I use a new soft painting brush to dust  the plant  off, I have smaller ones for the smaller plants.

Here it is in its new larger pot, it has a small pup on the right and on the left is a bigger pup  from last year.

And voilà, a happy plant, or so I hope, bathing in the sun, so now it can grow and produce more pups !

THIS MORNING I DIDN’T BELIEVE MY EYES

I’m in shock really ! They predicted snow for yesterday and we had a lot of snow yesterday but it melted right away, so no problem. This morning I opened my curtains and look what I saw !!!!!

SHOCK !!! HORROR !!!

EVEN MY CACTI ARE IN SHOCK !!! CAN YOU SEE THE LOOK ON THEIR FACES ?

AND LOOK AT MY BRAVE LITTLE DAFFS !!!

I had so many plans for the day, I thought I could work in the greenhouse, do a bit of planting and sowing there and a bit of repotting…..all dawn the drain now !the way to my greenhouse is too dangerous with the snow so I am not going to risk it.

Can anyone tell me when this is going to stop ???? I want SPRING !!!!!!

PS: I just read in the newspaper that it was 60 years ago we had this much snow at the end of March !

SPRING IS IN THE AIR

At last we have temperatures above  0 C°, even at night ! It is still cold and very wet but it is a dry day so I started working in the garden, I don’t know where to begin as the garden is a real mess at the moment.

The builders made us a new terrace in the garden and new garden path’s but what a mess !!!

I don’t clean up my garden in Autumn either cos it is better for the plants and the birds and other small wildlife that is living in my garden, like frogs and hedgehogs, insects…. But now I am ready to start !!!!

HERE’S A PICTURE OF MY LITTLE VIOLETS WHO DESPITE THE HORRIBLE WINTER WE’VE HAD ARE BLOOMING AGAIN, IN MY EYES IT’S A MIRACLE !

NARCISSUS TETE A TETE, I CHEATED A BIT, I BOUGHT THESE IN THE SHOP WHERE THEY WERE ALREADY IN BLOOM

THIS IS HOW FAR MY NARCISSUS ARE, IN BUD

MY SNOWDROPS ARE THE ONLY FLOWERS IN BLOOM AT THE MOMENT, WHEN I WAS WORKING IN THE GARDEN TODAY I SAW THEY HAVE SEEDED THEMSELVES HERE AND THERE, I LIKE THAT !

I also started to put my succulents in pots outside again, they spent Winter in my greenhouse and they look really well, last year they were almost death cos of all the cold and wet we had, they can stand the cold but not the wet.
